Currently, UTAD is recognized in the university system for its activity in the educational, scientific, technological and extension research areas in the scientific areas, a nuance that identifies it the most.
UTAD integrates five schools, five research centers, several fields of research and other universities committed to collaboration structures, organizations and companies, trying to create synergies with a strong impact in the territory, within the framework of the recently created UNorte.pt consortium that includes universities of Porto and Minho.
It integrates various national and international networks and collaborations within a framework of concerted participation in regional and cross-border strategies, but also has a strong impact on cohesion and territorial sustainability.

In its three campuses – Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo – it currently has academic degrees in the scientific, humanistic, technological and legal areas in its 30 centers, where research groups are also active. The network of the centers completes the map of the infrastructures destined for the research that has University of Vigo, being placed in the 15th position of the Spanish universities in scientific production.
Modern, in favor of gender equality, innovative and plural, the University of Vigo promotes and facilitates the mobility of its students and leads in Galicia the number of foreign students received, as well as students in the overseas mobility program. Being the only Galician university that forms part of EURES Transfrontier Galiza-Norte de Portugal.
Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto Regional Center

Its Porto Regional Center was created in 1978 and currently has eight Faculties: Católica Business School, School of Arts, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Faculty of Theology, Institute of Bioethics and Institute of Health Sciences. Educational offer: 57 degree courses; more than 40 executive and lifelong learning courses. 6% of the students are foreigners, coming from 36 countries.
It integrates 7 research centers with FCT evaluation, namely the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina, CBQF) – State Associated Laboratory. It is part of international networks of relevance such as AULP, ENCORE, EIA, USA, EFFOST, FUCE, FIUC, IFA-ISEKI, SAFE CONSORTIUM. Since ever, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto has been standing out with the open way in which it interacts with the community: strong relationships with the business and employers (national and international); working in the field of social responsibility that assumes in its mission and in different dimensions: with its students (comprehensive and inclusive education, more than 10% of students have social support), with the most fragile communities, with social sector institutions. Involvement of more than 300 committed students with the volunteer in more than 30 institutions.
The closeness and the committed relationship with the future of its students have been outstanding in the preparation for a comprehensive world vision, associated with a committed and inclusive attitude that fosters a strong and agile employability, dimensions in which it has focused in a pioneering way in Portugal.
